Neighborhood
Potrero Launch is at the center of one of San Francisco’s most flourishing (and sunniest) neighborhoods: Central Waterfront / Dogpatch. With its great sense of community, rich history, unique architecture, and a booming arts and young business scene, the neighborhood is a magnet for great restaurants and cafes, wine bars and artisan shops, from Serpentine, Piccino and Dig, to Recchiuti Confections, Mr. & Mrs. Miscellaneous and MAC (Modern Appealing Clothing). Esprit Park is a short block away, and Muni’s T Third Light Rail line, which runs down the Third Street corridor, conveniently stops right outside your doorstep. Just down the street you’ll find AT&T Park and the USCF Mission Bay Campus and new Medical Center.

NEIGHBORHOOD PROJECTS
Pier 70
Just across the Street from Potrero Launch, Pier 70 has nearly 70 acres of waterfront land ready for future development. Forest City has been selected to work with the port to design a specific plan for the pier that will enliven the post-industrial area while maintaining its historic character. The plan will include restored historic buildings, commercial spaces, and new restaurant and retail spaces; it will also create public recreation space and recreational water uses that will improve waterfront access while maintaining the pier's present maritime uses and preserving the area's extraordinary historical structures.
Construction is slated to begin in 2012.
Crane Cove Park
New green space is in the works immediately adjacent to Potrero Launch on Illinois Street on Pier 70’s northwest corner. Soon to be the neighborhood’s newest 7 acre park, Crane Cove Park will include the two prominent historic cranes that currently tower above the area as well as ample green space along the waterfront. The landscape architect has been selected, and the park is scheduled for completion in 2014.
Blue Greenway + Bay Trail
The Blue Greenway will soon turn the unused railway corridor running along the east side of Potrero Hill into a 13-mile long corridor that will create a spectacular green bike and pedestrian pathway. This new greenway/waterway will link established open spaces; create new recreational opportunities and green infrastructure; and create a parkway that will connect Potrero Hill to the San Francisco Bay Trail, an extensive walking, bike and recreation path that will connect people to eachother and San Francisco’s Central Waterfront.
Salesforce Campus
Encompassing 14 acres in in the Central Waterfront neighborhood on Third Street at 16th Street, the new Salesforce Campus will include eight buildings with nearly 2 million square feet of office space, a large public piazza surrounded by cafes and shops, and an open corridor to a waterfront park.Construction is scheduled to commence in 2012.
UCSF Mission Bay Medical Center
This state-of-the-art and sustainable medical center will be located near its existing biomedical campus at Mission Bay, bound by Third and Mariposa Streets and 16th Street. The 289-bed, 878,000 square foot complex will specialize in care for women, children and adult cancer patients. The first phase is scheduled for completion in 2014.
